Col. (Ret) Robert Sinkler, former Chief of Army Environmental Programs, Joins Dawson

Colonel (Ret) Robert Sinkler joins Dawson & Associates.


Col. Robert Sinkler, who led planning on issues ranging from hurricane protection to inland waterway navigation to environmental protection and remediation during 30 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has joined Dawson & Associates, the company is proud to announce.


During his remarkable career with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Bob held several key leadership and command positions.  Taken together, these offices have given him extensive experience in many of the Corps of Engineers’ major policy issues.


Bob served as principle strategic advisor to the Chief of Engineers and Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  He assisted the Chief of Engineers in setting the strategic direction for USACE, the world’s largest public engineering, design, and construction management agency.


He also served as Chief of Army Environmental Programs in the Pentagon and commanded the Hurricane Protection Office, a USACE task force responsible for designing and constructing the USACE’s $14+ billion Hurricane Storm Surge System for greater New Orleans.


Bob commanded the Rock Island District (USACE) where he led planning, operations and construction on more than $30 billion of Federal environmental and infrastructure projects in five Midwest states.


Bob has advanced degrees from both the U.S. Army War College and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.


He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.
