HENRY S. POINTON, JR., P.E.
Henry S. Pointon, JR., Senior Advisor, served as Assistant Chief of Programs Division in Civil Works Programs Division, Office of the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prior to joining Dawson & Associates. In this position, he was responsible for program development, defense, and execution of an annual $3 billion national water resources development and management program.
Mr. Pointon also served as Assistant Chief of Planning Programs Management Branch where he engaged in national planning, policy, legislation and administration for water and related resources development. In addition, Mr. Pointon was chief of Engineering Branch, Natural Resources Division, Inter-American Geodetic Survey, Fort Clayton, Canal Zone. He advised and assisted U.S. Agency for International Development missions and host country agencies throughout Latin America in integrated natural resource surveys, reconnaissance, feasibility studies, and planning for regional development in irrigation, drainage, flood control, transportation, agriculture, forestry and minerals. He has also held other responsible positions in water resources and public works, including City Engineer.
Mr. Pointon holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, and is a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland. He is fluent in French and has travelled extensively in Europe, Latin America and North Africa.
